  1. Hi,

As a Portsmouth High School student, I worked part-time in the old downtown location during the winter of 1964 and spring of 1965. I remember vividly loading electrical conduit during freezing weather and climbing around in the old wire room sorting wire. Then, with many fond memories of Rockingham Electric Supply behind me, I went off to the US Naval Academy to begin my career as an officer in the Navy.

I just wanted to let you know that the working ethic I learned from the team at Rockingham helped me considerably later during my days at USNA as well as my naval career.

By the way, is James Pender, Sr. the same person I used to call “Jimmy” back in 1965?

    Cheers,
    John Roeder, CDR USN, ret.
